Tuppeny Barn – Blue Class

To complete their learning experience, Where does our food come from?, Blue class enjoyed a fun day at Tuppeny Barn. They enjoyed many fabulous hands on experiences, such as;

  • making a plant pot from newspaper
  • planting beans
  • exploring the herb garden and creating sceneted sticky strips of herbs
  • tasting rocket
  • preparing vegetables for a soup and then enjoying eating the fruits of their labour
  • cropping cavalo nero (a kale like vegetable) which were made into crisps which the children tasted
  • looking at a compost heap and learning about how food biodegrades
  • looking for signs of spring

The children had a wonderful but tiring day. The return coach trip to school was very quiet!
