The children have used pumpkins to aid their learning this week. They have discovered the stages of a pumpkin’s life cycle and using pictures ordered them correctly giving each stage a label. They have used oil pastels and chalk pastels to create pictures and some have even managed to make their pumpkins look 3D. Sewing was the next challenge, the children learnt how to do a simple running stitch to create their vegetable on hessian. Thinking about their senses, the children wrote descriptive poems, some of their adjectives are very imaginative. The week culminated in a cooking task, using measuring scales they weighed out the ingredients to make pumpkin cakes, scrummy. The children have enjoyed their week immensely, happy half term!
